Hello my name is Christy Duncan and I am a registered psychologist. I hold a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Lethbridge. I have experience in the public sector, not for profits (YWCA Harbour House, Canadian Mental Health Association), and the Lethbridge School District. I have been a part of the LCS team since 2020.
My areas of practice include OCD, trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and chronic pain and illness. As a type I diabetic myself, I have an interest in supporting individuals coping with demands related to diabetes management including: food, weight, blood sugar monitoring, fear of hypoglycemia, long term complications, and stigma.
I am trained in level one EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing. I am currently completing additional training in a somatic based therapy called Hakomi Therapy.
My priority is making my clients feel safe, respected, and heard. I take a person-centred approach, and this means I am kind, open, and willing to help you through your unique experiences.
